To further save some money we tried to figure out how to make our date nights cheaper đŸ™‚ Why go out and spend $70-100 on dinner, drinks and activites every month when you can spend a fraction of that on a night at home! A year of your typical dates can cost anywhere from $840-$1200 a year! So why not swap it for something cheaper and creative! After cranking up our tunes we read through our booklet and got to cooking! Team work was key here đŸ™‚ First we created some Homemade Kettle Corn, super sticky but oh so tasty!
Next up was our Caramel Apples! Neither of us had ever made these so needless to say there were mistakes. We had a boil over and weren’t sure that we had hit the “Soft Ball” stage with the caramel, however they still tasted incredible!
While our apples cooled in the fridge we went ahead and make some Spiced Apple Cider and Bourbon Cocktails! What a wonderful pair đŸ™‚ We added 1 oz. Woodford Reserve Bourbon and Ice together with the Apple Cider Mixture they provided. Yum!
Once we had made all of our snacks it was then time to gather them up and begin our “Escape Room” Game! We truthfully thought this was the best part of the night. They literally bring the escape room to your house đŸ™‚
We won! We escaped the room in our own house đŸ™‚ It was an awesome game and so creative. This DateBox really enabled us to work as a team and reconnect over the things that we love.
